Day 01
  • Colombo / Jaffna - 425 KM - 8 Hours

    *Leave Colombo for Jaffna via Vauniya.
    *Breakfast at Kurunegala own arrangements.
    *Lunch at Vauniya own arrangements.
    *Arrive at Murunkandy Kovil & attend rituals.
    *On the way visiting Iranamadu Tank
    Iranamadu tank built in 1902 is the biggest tank in the North. During British rule, Irrigation engineer Henry Parker designed the Iranamadu tank irrigation scheme in 1866, and a colony, now called Kilinochchi, was established to provide labour to build the Iranamadu tank.

Day 02
  • Jaffna

    *Breakfast at the Hotel.
    *Leave for Naga Deepa the historic Buddhist temple.
    It is among the country's sixteen or seventeen holiest Buddhist Shrines (Solosmasthana). According to contemporary history, the Gautama Buddha visited the site after five years of attaining Enlightenment to settle the dispute between two warring Naga kings, Chulodara and Mahodara. Ancient history according to the Mahavansa chronicles and the Tamil Buddhist epic Manimekalai mentions a gem-studded throne and a stone with the Buddha’s footprint at the island Nainativu, (also known as Nagadeepa) which pilgrims from India visited (This journey includes a boat trip)
    *Return to Jaffna for lunch (Own arrangements)
    *Leave for Casuarina beach which is very popular among the tourists. It is in Karainagar, Jaffna District, Sri Lanka, about 20 kilometers fromJaffna. The Casuarina Beach in Karainagar is also called and written as Casoorina, Cashoorina and few other variants. This is said to be the best beach in the Jaffna Peninsula. One can walk a long way in the deep blue water with gentle waves moving towards the land. The beach probably got its name due the Casuarina Trees along the beach. The beach lies about 20 km off Jaffna and may take about 45 minutes to travel by a vehicle.
    *Evening Visit Naga Vihara. The recorded history of the ancient temple is around 3rd century. At that time the 3 major tribes were living in sri lanka. (Naga, Yaksha, Deva). From that 'Naga' tribesmen requested the king to keep the sacred sapling of Jaya Sri maha Bodhi in jaffna for one week. As a result of that King Devanampya tissa agreed.

Day 03
  • Jaffna

    *Breakfasts at the Hotel.
    *Commence sightseeing in Jaffna including a visit to Nallura Kovil / Point
    *Pedro Light House, the northern most point of Sri Lanka / Vallepuram Kovil & Nilawarie Well. This well is situated at Nilavarai, Achuvelly. This amazing natural well with its aquamarine colour is said to be bottomless, with salt water in its depths attesting to its connection to the sea. This square shaped well of unknown depth is quite popular among the local people, The water never gets depleted and it servers sufficiently the irrigation purpose of the neighboring areas (Bottom Less Well)
    *After Lunch Leave for Keeramallai to visit holy bathing ponds Visit Madagal
    (Dambakola Patuna) where “Reverend Sangamitta” landed with the Bo sapling Visit Kandarodai Viharaya and this temple is supposed to be 2000 years old. (Kadurugoda Viharaya) It is believe that these miniature Stupas Are built to enshrine the remains of 60 Arhaths who died due to a famine in the area.
    *Commence Jaffna city tour including a visit to Jaffna Library / Jaffna
    The burning of the Jaffna library an important event in the Sri Lankan civil war. An organized mob of Sinhalese origin went on a rampage on the nights of May 31 to June 1, 1981, burning the Jaffna Public Library. It was one of the most violent examples of ethnic biblioclasm of the 20th century. At the time of its destruction, the library was one of the biggest in Asia, containing over 97,000 books and manuscripts. *Fort and Jaffna Market.

Day 04
  • Jaffna / Colombo

    * Breakfasts at the Hotel.
    * Check out from Hotel and Leave for Mullativu
    * Commence sightseeing in Mullativu
    *Mullativu on the way visiting (Sea Tiger Training Pool and War Museum in Puthukkudiyirippu) and the same time you will be able to see the entire ruined weapon used to the civil war. (Submarines, seaplanes, Guns, Mortars, Bombs)
    *Passing the Nandikadal Lagoon which took place the Last LTTE Battle. Lunch in Vauniya
    *After Lunch proceed to Colombo.
    *Returned to Colombo.
