Day 01
  • Colombo / Kurunegala/ Polonnauwa/ Passikudah - 285 KM - 6 Hours

    *Leave Colombo for Passikudah via Kurunegala / Polonnaruwa.
    *Stop for Breakfast on the way (Own arrangements).
    *Visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple (Optional).
    Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site(1991) in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. It is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains.There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of gods and goddesses. The latter include two statues of Hindugods, the god Vishnu and the god Ganesh. The murals cover an area of 2,100 square metres. Depictions on the walls of the caves include the temptation by the demon Mara, and Buddha's first sermon.

    Pasikudah or Pasikuda Pronounced Paasikkudah, Historic Sinhala Translation Tamil translation (Green-Algae-Bay) is acoastal resort town located about 35 kilometers northwest of Batticaloa,Batticaloa District, Sri Lanka. It used to be a popular tourist destination, however due to 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and Sri Lankan Civil Wartourist numbers have declined. Pasikudah and Kalkudah are located few km apart.

Day 02
  • Passikudah / Batticaloa

    *After Break Fast leave for Batticaloa and visit Dutch Church, Dutch Fort, Light House and Lady Manning Bridge
    Batticaloa, better known simply as Batti, is the regional centre of Sri Lanka’s southeast coastal area. The Portuguese were the first to erect a fort here in 1572. The Dutch claimed it in 1638, handed it over to the Kandyans in 1643, but reoccupied and modified it in 1665. In 1795 it was surrendered to the British, and it still stands today by the banks of the Batticaloa Lagoon. Although the interior is now an administrative office, the exterior is still in good condition with unbroken square walls, a bastion in each corner and a moat that still holds water.
    Batticaloa’s Old Dutch Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1628. It is actually called “Dutch” as it was captured by the Dutch 10 years later. It is a square structure with 4 bastions, bordered by the lagoon on two sides. Old canons can be seen. Nowadays, it shelters the offices of the District Secretary.

    Kallady is a village within the Batticaloa District of Eastern province of Sri Lanka. It lies north of Batticaloa city. As part of ongoing Sri Lankan civil war, the Kallady village has military installments. 2004 Tsunamiaffected the village resulting in major loss of life and property. It has theSamādhi of Swami Vipulananda a noted social reformer
